The Sackcloth Pelican has a dire prediction!

What will be the Bavel Macrostructure’s reaction to all this commotion? Only the pelican knows!

The Sackcloth Pelican is powered by the שקק shoresh root, which governs sackcloth, sacks, storms, attacks, commotion and more.

Inktober 19: Lilit

Lilit are night demons that look like a cross between an owl and a bat.

A Lilit (pl. Liliyot) is a feminine Kind of humanoid owl bat that lives in Bavel territory. ‘Aravot authorities classify them as demonic and irredeemably evil.

Liliyot have the power of night on their side, creating fields of darkness that inhibit victims’ vision. During nocturnal hunts, Liliyot prey on men and chicken coops for food. Besides their talons, they also are adept at using sharp chakram-like ring jewelry to attack opponents. Their martial arts culture specializes in twirling and aerial loops.

The Lilit comes from the לול shoresh root, which governs loops, night and Lilit/Lilith.

Robber Buzzard

The Robber Vulture will take what it wishes.

The Robber Buzzard is a cunning, deceitful foe. It joins birds of a feather as they fasten themselves to rubble along the clefts of the Biq’ah Rift. When victims with riches pass by, the birds swarm and threaten to tear them apart with razor-sharp wings. Favorite treasures include chalices and Beqa’ half-shekel coins.

This enemy is based on the עקב shoresh root and larger family, which deals with buzzards, robbers, cleaving, chalices and the beqa’ half-shekel.

Watch out for this enemy in the Milhamah RPG and video game!

Qorë Partridge (Inktober Day 26)

The Qorë Partridge sends maps and coded bird calls.

The Qorë Partridge, aka the chukah or the desert partridge, is one of Em Qeriah’s helpers in the Arqah Archives. These birds are responsible for delivering maps to the spies, troops and agents who are fighting Bavel on the battlefield. They’re also good at sending coded bird call messages, since Bavel doesn’t know how to monitor or censor them.

The Qorë wears a pumpkin headscarf, a microphone headset, antiglare glasses and a shoulder case for maps. For navigation purposes, it also wears a pendant that resembles a map compass rose.

Expect this bird to appear in “Milhamah: Fighting Words” soon!
