The Descriptivist-Prescriptivist War (known as the Script War for short) was a series of conflicts that spanned generations among the world’s people. The Descriptivists were an allied faction that served as the establishment. They prided themselves on their stoicism and rationality, and they fought for the world as it “is.” The Prescriptivists, the opposing faction, were the insurrectionists. They zealously fought for their passions, an ideology of romanticism that sought a world as it “ought to be.”
The carnage and damage from the war’s battles exhausted the world’s nations to the point where they listened to Beli Ya'al's pitch for unity and relinquished their power to him.
