INKTOBER DAY 3 (BAT): The Trusty Musty Baseball Bat never strikes out!

This bat, carved from firewood, is tested by beating it against watermelons until it becomes discolored red and yellow. The bat grows damp and mossy, and its musty stench attracts flies. Then a fuse at the tip is added to defend against electrical attacks. A big padlock adds weight and prevents theft.  

Security forces, guards and executioners praise this weapon for its surefire kills. But swinging it around too much will overexert all but the strongest warriors.

The Portan Mushroom Forest portal

The Porṭan Mushroom Forest is the stomping grounds of the prominent private researcher, Shem Peraṭi. Here he invented the Porṭan Portal, which the Bavel Macrostructure stole when they seized the land.

Porṭan is a wild place. The giant, horned psychedelic mushrooms scramble common communications signals, cutting off the land from the outside world. It’s easy to get lost in this sea of leaves and fungi, and many wanderers have lost their sanity as a result. Pluck and eat the wrong berries, and you’ll fall into a stupor. Smell the wrong blossom, and you’ll die. Carnivores feast upon gazelles and the weak. And decomposing corpses feed the forest’s soil and foliage.

Metivah Holy Tongue Academy

The Metivah Academy is the Holy Tongue Society's base.

 

Metivah is the seat of domestic defense and government for ‘Aravot’s state of Medinat Bet. And the Metivah Holy Tongue Academy is a palace shrine that used to be the Shrine of the Book in a prior age. It still houses the Dead Sea Scrolls, including the Milhamah Scroll.

As a result, the academy is now a research school for military tactics and speech acts. It also trains and lodges members of the Holy Tongue Society, as well as imprisons POWs from the Bavel Macrostructure.

The Metivah Holy Tongue Academy comes from the בית shoresh family, which governs lodgings, the letter bet, inmates, schools and religious academies.

Batim Residential District

The Batim is home to lots of Holy Tongue Society members in Medinat Bet.

The Batim Residential District is a dense neighborhood in ‘Aravot’s state of Bet. When missiles fly, civilian families huddle to the safety of their quaint (and heavily fortified) homes, lodgings, schools and houses of worship. Several Holy Tongue Society members grew up in the Batim, and some still return here while off-duty to reminisce of simpler times.

The Batim is powered by the בות shoresh family, which governs houses, families, schools, temples, lodging and returning.
