INKTOBER DAY 11 (EAGLE): The Fallout Griffin is an mutant eagle/bobcat/lynx hybrid that developed due to exposure to radioactive fallout. That exposure makes the griffin powerful but clumsy, as it often drops from the sky due to molting too many feathers. While it’s a ferocious predator, its favorite food is fruit.

INKTOBER DAY 10 (CRABBY) With a reel of thread atop its ornamentally striated shell, the Brocade Crab weaves metallic embroidery for the Bavel Macrostructure’s emblems, armor and other rare artifacts.

It demands only the best-case scenario for working conditions: The thread must be gold or silver, and a hit movie must be on while it’s designing.

INKTOBER DAY 9 (NEST): The Jacked Nest is a sentient jumble of tangled cords that disguises itself as a bird nest. In reality, it’s an avian death chamber that jolts its unsuspecting prey into a burnt offering, and then converts the corpses into energy via the cord jacks. The nest’s electric hum sounds like a dirge.

When lit, the matches can be flicked to produce flaming, explosive punches that knock the punch-drunk target backward. In an expert’s hands, these are highly lethal.

The Tangling Tripwire Trap aims to capture the wise.

INKTOBER DAY 7 (TRIP): Tangling Tripwire Traps are roadway obstacles meant to ruin the journeys of insurgents who oppose the Bavel Macrostructure.

Bavel lays the booby traps across roads, usually near a flowering palm tree. An enlightening psalter is placed in the trap, baiting Holy Tongue Society members to approach. If the trap succeeds, a fanged cedar rope — used to tie animal legs — clamps the ankle, leaving the injured, entangled victim helpless.

Although Bavel is a dictatorship, its cultural elites have criticized the government when these traps accidentally kill innocent people’s relatives, friends and even children. However, the empire’s legal system puts the bereaved at a huge disadvantage.

インクトーバー 7 日目 (躓く): もつれさせるトリップワイヤー トラップは、バベル マクロ構造に反対する反乱軍の旅路を台無しにすることを目的とした道路障害物です。
